I typically go to Jakes across the street when I'm in town for business. When reading a review of Jakes someone mentioned Walkers has the better New York strip. I'm quite surprised since New York at Jakes is my usual go-to so I had high expectation walking into Walkers knowing what I was going to order.
Boy was I disappointed. It's probably unfair to compare steak at a new American vs traditional steak house. Walkers's New York comes with Hollandaise dressing and cranberry sauce. Bonus on the flavor but the meat is just not cooked right. I asked for medium well and was served well done. The dry steak was hard to chew and ruined the dining experience. Medium well means at least I can see a thin pink center but my steak was basically fully cooked. It tasted like something I threw a cheap charcoal grill for too long. For a $35 steak I expected better.
That being said I've had other dishes at walker including the Fresh Catch of the Day. Decent. Just wont order the steak again (happens to be the most expensive item on the menu). -

Walkers is good!
I just recently had dinner here. I started with a few drinks and they came out quite quickly! They brought some bread out, it's was not impressive at all. I thought it was very bland, and not the best texture. I'm sure lathering it in butter would have added to the flavor but I passed.
I ordered the beet salad. Whipped goat cheese and the berry compote was a great flavor to cute the earth-ieness of the beet and I enjoyed it.
I ordered the tofu curry- not typical but I wanted to give it a shot and it was good. The flavors were nice, and a portion.
The service was present, it definitely got busy the later the evening got. Live music was a bonus. -

If you ever find yourself in Billings, MT this restaurant is a must try! Great atmosphere, huge bar, TVs to watch the game. The vino list was remarkable and priced reasonably. The menu is very unique with a wide range of options for anyone. I ordered the chips n dip, which was chicharrones with fresh made onion dip. I was in the mood for something on the lighter side and went with the Halibut. This dish was so incredible! The fish was cooked perfectly; haven't had fish cooked that well since I was in Puerto Rico. The lion's mane mushrooms were the main reason I chose this dish and they did not disappoint. They were thick and had a meaty texture and paired well with the beet ceviche. The wow factor was definitely the powdered brown butter. Simply amazing dish, I would order it again, but it was so good I want to try everything on the menu now.

An outstanding restaurant experience. The service was superior. The menu is not extensive, but anyone should be able to find a favorite dish. Solid craft beer and wine options. Prices are in line with the experience.
